Welcome to our online gallery
Baranga Maditjil aims to promote awareness of the unique style and culture of the Noongar people of the Great Southern region of Western Australia, and to educate others on the history of prominent Noongar artists from the region. Our name means 'Totem Magic' in the local dialect of our Noongar language.
Our physical gallery provides a welcoming cultural space where visitors can experience Noongar art, learn about the stories behind the works and connect with the artists who created them. It supports exhibitions, artist talks, creative workshops, cultural activities and community gatherings. Our online gallery carries these artworks and stories beyond the Great Southern, connecting artists with collectors, galleries, cultural institutions, businesses and wider audiences. It enables artists to develop their professional profiles, access new markets and generate income from their creative work while remaining connected to their families, communities and Country.
